Ithaca, NY - Corning outscored Ithaca 12-1 in the first half and coasted to a 19-5 victory over the Little Red Wednesday evening at Moresco Field.
Four players scored hat tricks for the victorious Hawks (8-1, 4-0 Class A), with Neena Merola notching a game-high five goals. Mallory Frysinger tallied four goals, while Emily Thomas and Taylor Mathis added three apiece.
Other Corning scorers included Whitney Corby, Corrina Mandell, Rachelle Woodhouse and Haley Lukefahr.
Lindsay Biondi and Grace Boyce each recorded two goals for the Little Red (5-5, 1-2 Class A), with Molly Long adding the other score.
Corning has two straight Section 5 foes on its schedule, hosting Irondequoit Thursday and playing at Brighton this weekend. Ithaca travels to Maine-Endwell for a Friday evening matchup.
