Corning NY- If Friday's Lacrosse win was a tale of two halves, Corning Coach Bob Streeten may have opted to play the first and forget the second. The Hawks built a 6-1 lead as they headed to intermission, spreading the scoring around as Kyle Clarkson, Tanner Morse, Mike Vaughn, and Brandon Griffin particpated. Vestal, though, had plans of their own, fighting back to score 5 second half goals, and, thanks in part to Corning not taking care of the ball, the Bears certainly created some duress for Hawks fans. Perhaps the younger members of the Conging team may have lost focus for a while, but, the team rallied in the 4th, added three more scores, and, aided by the clock, held off the Bears for a 9-6 decision. Corning improves it's record to 2-0, Vestal drops to 2-1. Up next for Corning, a road trip to Union Endicott Tuesday.

Binghamton, NY- Goals might be hard to come by for the Corning Hawks Lacrosse team this season, but they found the one they needed ten seconds into the second overtime Tuesday evening, slipping by the Binghamton Patriots 7-6. Zach Moore of Corning won the faceoff to start the second OT, found Kyle Clarkson with a quick pass who then buried the ball deep into the Patriot goal to provide the "sudden victory" for the Hawks.Six different players scored for the Hawks, led by Brandon Griffin's deuce. Corning will seek it's second win this Friday at 7PM when they host Vestal at Memorial Stadium.
